Although our belonging shipment was delayed painfully long, our car was delivered undrivable with very bad customer service from the shipping company, and a couple more set backs we have had MANY things happen in this short time to be thankful for:
- Tom started his job and is excited at how it is going and what he will get to do.
- We got a new car
- We got a great apartment in a good location, close to public transportation, a great mall (YAY!), enough space, a view of the Cascade Mountains, close to Tom's work, and by the highway for me to get to work
- I will be starting my job HOPEFULLY on Sept 8th (I don't think the president gets as tough of a background check as I have gotten over this thing. I got criminal background checks from the US, Canada, and Sweden AND got every past employment and volunteer position contacted confirmed. geez.)
- The people we know in Seattle have been so welcoming and great to hang out with already.
Everyone start saving to visit! Hold your panty hose for this announcement: we have room for 6 guests to sleep comfortably, enough pillows to suffocate an elephant, and enough serving platters/glassware to serve thanksgiving dinner every night, so GO northWEST YOUNG PEOPLE (and young people at heart).
Leaving family and familiarity was hard. Starting our life has been frustrating but fun.
That was our first month WashINgton.
