Fun events

The pacific northwest has already shown us fun times.  Some with picture proof and some without.  We have already gone a couple times to the Redmond Saturday Market where we have gotten yummy fresh fruits, vegetables, and fresh popped kettle corn. yuuuuummmm. Our first time we tried to get elephant garlic thinking "hey, garlic is awesome, i bet a HUGE garlic would be even more awesome!" WRONG. It was actually more like a mix between an onion and garlic. Which I'm sure has its uses, but when it is used as garlic if fails.

There is also a market in Edmonds (which is closer to where we live), so maybe we will try that this weekend!

The first weekend we were here we attended a friend I met in Sweden during my study abroad who is originally from Seattle's wedding.  Being that her now husband is Swedish, they held a very culturally Scandinavian reception which included singing, snaps toasts, sitting apart from your spouse (which was way fun and let us meet many new people), and running up to kiss the groom on the cheek when the bride went to the bathroom. It was a great night, and we were happy to see Rachel and Johan again!

The next weekend we went to Airfield Estates Winery in Woodinville, where Andrew and Megan are members, for a wine tasting and cooking demonstration.  The chef started with a HUGE whole salmon and showed us how to filet it.  He then grilled it, covered it with an amazing aioli, and we very eagerly ate it. Besides some rather annoying fellow onlookers, it was a fun experience!

We have also enjoyed:

• A fun night out in Seattle with all our friends
• Lots of playing the game of Life and watching Weeds with Andrew and Megan
• Live music at the Mill Creek town center with Jason and Caitlin
• I had a fun morning with Lindsey catching up
• We enjoyed helping construct an outdoor woodfire pizza oven and enjoyed food at the party afterwards
• We went to Boeing Family Day where Andrew, Megan, and I got to see where Tom works, as well as assembly sites of all the planes they construct in the Everett factory
• AND we have finally started having others over to our apartment now that it is together (well...don't look in the guest room just yet).

Can't wait to explore more!  I am wanting to go to Meadowdale Beach Park at some point because it is close to our apartment.  I'm hoping we get some in some fun weekend trips before the weather gets dreary. 

Save up for a trip out here!  Our salute to the coffee loving Seattle is the fact that we have a katrillion coffee mugs...one for each one of you to use when you visit!  So, GO northWEST YOUNG PEOPLE (and young people at heart)! (this mantra is going to be a trend if you can't tell)
